The Dark Stories Behind The Scene
At Import A Boat, we are committed to offering you excellent shipping services. We are experienced in importing boats, as we are careful in loading boats to avoid damages. We specialise in freighting of quality boat brands that are of American manufactured quality. We also ship quality marine accessories and outboard and inboard motors.
While doing all these, however, there are a series of horror stories that we have heard. For us at Import A Boat, we take utmost care to ensure that we are not caught in these horror stories’ plots, and our actions do not become the story itself. This is what has always motivated us to give the best in our service delivery, and deal with the best people and organisation in the process of shipping your boats.
The horror stories we have heard from other organisations are frightening, especially to existing and potential clients. As a forward-looking organisation, we have analysed these horror stories and made three categorisations. This categorisation is based on the possible causes of horror stories. The categorisation include
Bad Cradles/Packing: one of the most important things in boat importation is handling the packing and cradle. For many reasons, if the boats are not properly packed in the container, they can get damaged in transit. If there is no cradle for your boat, lifting it for on-loading or offloading may be difficult. Besides, if your boat has a keel, not using a cradle would not make it stable. This can cause damage in transit.
Quarantine Issues: Importing a boat goes beyond having the money to settle all the processing fees. As a requirement, you have to ensure the safety of the boat. If you will be shipping used boats in containers, it is our advice that you give them some cleansing. This would help you to reduce the cost of quarantine cleansing. It would also help you avoid infestation of pests.
Unexpected Charges: Unexpected charges is also a cause of the horror stories that have happened across the country. For many people, they might have fallen victim to fake organisations who disguise as custom clearance companies. These organisations collect ridiculous money without using it for the required purpose. This, in turn, puts clients in a position where they need to pay other unexpected charges, lose or have their boats delayed. For clients running on a fixed budget (many people do this), this becomes their horror stories.
If these stories scare you, as we believe they should have, and you wouldn’t want to be the next victim, we advise you to deal with organisations with reputation. This would assure you that your vessel will be handled with care without any sorry horror stories. At Import A Boat, we are the organisation you need to attend to all your shipping needs.
